MY PERSONAL STORY

I lived with chronic dizziness 24/7

Hi, I'm Saneeb.

I lived with chronic dizziness 24/7 for years. It became something I had to think about almost every day.

My journey started when I was young. After an incident during powerlifting, I began experiencing neck pain and other symptoms. Then the dizziness started.

At first, I didn't understand what was happening.

I experienced dizziness, fear, panic and uncertainty. Normal situations started feeling difficult.

Crowded places became difficult. Going outside became difficult. Even simple everyday situations could make me worried about how my body would react.

Eventually, I became so overwhelmed that I closed myself inside my room and stayed there.

The person who used to train and lift weights was now afraid of everyday life.

Years of Searching for Answers

Over the years, I visited more than 20 doctors and went through many different tests trying to understand what was happening.

I wanted an answer.

I wanted to know why I constantly felt dizzy. Why normal movements felt frightening. Why my body didn't feel the way it used to.

There were medications that helped me along the way, and I believe medication can be an important part of someone's care when prescribed by their doctor.

But for me, I eventually realized something important:

I couldn't just sit and wait for my life to change.

I needed to start moving forward.

I needed to work on the things I could work on.

What Helped Me in My Journey

Along the way, I started collecting the exercises, breathing practices, grounding techniques and strategies that became part of my own journey.

These included eye movements, gaze stabilization, head movements, grounding, breathing practices, body awareness and gradually becoming more comfortable with situations I had started avoiding.

I am sharing these because they were part of my journey with chronic dizziness.

They are not a promise that the same things will work for someone else.

Where I Am Today

Today, my life is much better than it was during those darkest years.

I can do many of the things I once struggled with. I can live my life instead of constantly organizing my life around dizziness and fear.

Do I still experience dizziness?

Yes.

I still have some dizziness, but for me it is now much less than before.

That difference means a lot to me.

I know what it feels like to be stuck in a room, wondering if things will ever get better.

And I also know what it feels like to slowly start taking your life back.

Why I Created This Playbook

I created the PPPD Survivor Playbook because I wish I had something like this when I was first trying to understand what was happening to me.

This isn't a promise that everyone will experience the same results I did.

I can't promise you a fast timeline. I can't promise that everything that helped me will work for you.

Everyone's experience with PPPD is different.

What I can do is share my experience, what I learned, the practices I used, the exercises I worked with, and the strategies that became part of my journey.

My hope is that you can take what is useful, adapt it to your own situation, and discuss appropriate approaches with your healthcare professionals.

Because one thing I learned through those years is this:

You don't have to wait for everything to feel perfect before you start moving forward.

Small steps matter.

Consistency matters.

And sometimes, moving forward means doing what you can even when you don't feel 100% ready.

Years of confusion, fear, setbacks, learning and small steps — put together into one resource that I hope can be useful to someone else navigating PPPD.

Important: This is my personal story and experience with chronic dizziness. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a replacement for professional medical care.
